Healthcare Facilities Management
Advanced LoRaWAN Monitoring & Predictive Maintenance System integrated with AWS
Real-Time Predictive Maintenance, Enhanced Regulatory Compliance, and Improved Patient Safety.
Context: Medxcel manages critical infrastructure for large-scale healthcare facilities, where operational failures carry significant risk to patient safety, equipment longevity, and regulatory compliance. The challenge was transitioning from reactive maintenance and manual checks to a scalable, real-time monitoring solution for thousands of critical assets.
Approach: Truway deployed an expansion of Medxcel’s existing LoRaWAN solution, featuring an extensive network of low-power sensors integrated into a AWS cloud platform to enable predictive insights across five critical areas.
By implementing Truway’s advanced LoRaWAN monitoring system, Medxcel achieved superior visibility and control over its critical infrastructure, transforming facility operations.
Vibration and performance data from plant motors enabled the shift from time-based maintenance to condition-based, allowing staff to prevent costly breakdowns before they occurred.
Continuous, real-time monitoring of air quality, temperature, and pressure in critical spaces guaranteed adherence to strict healthcare environmental standards.
Automated alerts and centralized dashboards eliminated manual performance checks and ensured filters were replaced based on utilization data, optimizing AHU lifespan and reducing maintenance costs.
The secure, AWSintegrated LoRaWAN architecture was explicitly designed for easy, cost-effective expansion to additional Medxcel locations and future use cases (e.g., asset tracking, water monitoring).
Conclusion: The expansion of the LoRaWAN monitoring solution delivered real-time, actionable insights that directly enhanced Medxcel’s ability to maintain high standards of patient safety and maximize operational uptime across their critical facilities.
